To me Cathedral Peak hotel is one of the best accommodation I have stayed in. The Drakensberg has a lot of places to stay and I have not been in the others but Cathedral Peak beats all other places i've been in Kwazulu Natal.
This is the view you have from Cathedral Peak hotel, it sure was cold when we were there in the middle of winter. I heard its green during the summer and people actually go camp in the mountain. That must be great.
I also heard that the mountain could be a dangerous place at times since the drug smugglers use it as a pathway to get drugs from Lesotho to South Africa.
Anyway, this is a place I want to return to and stay for a bit longer than just a day like we did when we were there.
